Frequently asked questions
Can I really get new teeth the next day?
The All on 4 procedure allows us to place implants and attach a temporary set of teeth around 24 hours after the surgery.
How long does the All on 4 treatment take?
The surgery typically takes 2-3 hours per arch, and you receive your temporary teeth the day after the surgery. After 3-6 months of healing, you will receive your permanent dentures after a couple of tests are made, making sure you are completely happy and comfortable before making the final teeth.
Is All on 4 better than traditional dentures?
All on 4 provides superior stability, comfort, and function compared to removable dentures. It's a permanent solution that won't slip and allows you to eat all foods.
Is the procedure made under sedation?
Yes, we offer IV sedation performed by an anesthesiologist. This means we will review your medical history and medications to determine if additional blood tests are required.
How do I care for All on 4 implants?
Care for them like natural teeth, with regular brushing and flossing. A professional cleaning every 6 months is essential for long-term success. The use of waterpik is also recommended for better hygiene.
What can I eat after All-on-4 surgery (and for how long)?
After All-on-4 surgery, you'll usually start with cold, soft foods (ice cream, protein shakes, jelly, pudding, yogurt, smoothies, cooked vegetables, soft cold chicken, cold pasta, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs) for the first few days, then stay on a soft diet for several weeks while the implants heal. Avoid hard, crunchy, sticky, or chewy foods (nuts, crusty bread, steak, gum, chips, cookies, popcorn, crackers, pizza) until your dentist clears you, since biting too hard can stress the implants and temporary bridge.
