At LS Dental, Smile Design is the planning phase that precedes any cosmetic treatment. It can be conducted as a standalone consultation or as the first step in a full treatment plan. Your coordinator will clarify what is included in your quote.
How accurate is the digital preview?
The digital preview is generated from precise 3D scans of your actual teeth and facial photographs, making it a highly realistic representation of your expected result. A physical wax mock-up can also be placed in your mouth temporarily so you can evaluate the shape and size in real life before treatment begins.
Can I request changes to the design before treatment starts?
Absolutely. The entire purpose of Smile Design is to reach an agreement on the result before any irreversible work is done. You can request adjustments to tooth length, width, shade, or symmetry until you are fully satisfied with the proposed design.
What treatments are typically included in a smile makeover?
A smile makeover at LS Dental commonly combines veneers or crowns for shape and color, teeth whitening for brightness, and sometimes gum contouring for symmetry. The specific combination is determined by your starting point and aesthetic goals, and is planned during the Smile Design process.
How long does a Smile Design consultation take?
The initial consultation, including scanning, photography, and a first review of the design proposal, typically takes 60 to 90 minutes. If a physical mock-up is requested, a second short appointment may be needed once the prototype is fabricated.
Can I do Smile Design remotely before traveling to Costa Rica?
Yes. We can begin the planning process with photographs and any existing X-rays you send in advance. This allows us to prepare a preliminary design and treatment proposal before your arrival, so your in-clinic time is used as efficiently as possible.
